Accounting Intern

The Accounting Intern will complete daily accounting functions, year-end processes, and assist in various projects and company initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Other duties may be assigned

  • Review driver arrival and departure times and compare to paperwork
  • Update driver pay as needed
  • Update various excel spreadsheets
  • Various projects as needed
  • Strong attention to details
  • Maintain a strong work ethic

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Project work relating to payroll, accounting  or document imaging

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Current college student working towards the completion of a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Preferably a third or fourth year student

Customer Service Representative

The Customer Service Representative will coordinate the activities of drivers to maximize productivity, while assuring prompt and effective service to customers. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: 

  • Take orders from customers and confirm on time fulfillment
  • Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments to ensure timely customer deliveries
  • Build customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and evaluate/direct calls to appropriate personnel
  • Monitor truck movements and internal/external conditions affecting movements and ensure appropriate actions are taken to meet driver and public safety as well as customer demands
  • Actively solicit freight for specific areas
  • Manage service reporting for customers
  • Maintain customer trailer pools
  • Manage customer websites
  • Other duties as assigned

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the supervision of driver deliveries
  • Obey all company safety, regulatory and compliance policies
  • Must work well in a team environment

Driver Recruiter

The Driver Recruiter will recruit truck drivers for all of Contract Transport Services’ operating needs/growth opportunities to meet company staffing requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – Other duties may be assigned

  • Recruiting, interviewing, and orientation of new drivers
  • Initiate background checks, pre-employment and random drug testing
  • Create and maintain driver qualification files for drivers
  • Coordinate driver uniform program
  • Coordinate driver training assignments

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain OSHA records and reporting requirements
  • Assist safety director as needed
  • Must work well independently and in a team environment
  • Ad-hoc participant in teams intended to improve business processes

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED/HSED with a minimum of three years related experience; knowledge of hiring practices and driver qualifications

  • Dispatch drivers, equipment and personnel to customer requests in accordance with established company policy and procedures

  • Knowledge of DOT regulations is preferred but not required
