CTS DRIVER COMPETES AT NATIONAL TRUCK DRIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS
GREEN BAY, Wis. (August 21, 2019) – For the 2nd time in 3 years, CTS has had a driver competing in the National Truck Driving Championships. Considering the small size of the company, that is quite the accomplishment. Last week, CTS professional driver, Charles Cappelle, competed at the national competition in Pittsburgh, PA – the ticket that got him there – winning first place at the Wisconsin Truck Driving Championships back in May.
Cappelle, along with his wife and other CTS representatives arrived in Pittsburgh midweek to be ready for the start of the championships on Wednesday. The competition which spanned several days involved a written test, timed pre-trip inspection, and driving test, with scores being earned in each category. A driver’s overall score was then determined once all three of his or her scores were compiled. Although Cappelle did not make it to the top 5 in his class, the experience itself will prove to be invaluable in his career moving forward.
There was no lack of support for Charles coming from members of the CTS team and others in the community via social media. Some of the encouragement happened to be from Paul Mastalir, a CTS driver who could no doubt vividly remember what the competition entailed after being there in 2017 when it took place in Orlando, FL.
After having a taste of it, combined with the impressive results that CTS achieved at the state level in May of this year, we have a feeling this won’t be the last time CTS is represented on the big stage.
